I have 3 adorable dogs, one is a black Labrador called ‘Duke’ and the two westies are ‘Lauchie’ and ‘Murdoch’. As you can imagine, my household is very active and there is rarely a dull moment!
I recently noticed Duke had a nasty habit of eating my westies’ poop. Well, someone must have heard my cries of disgust because a week later I came across your advice.
I have to admit I was a little sceptical – your advice seemed ‘too human’…but the difference your advice has made is HUGE!
I want to thank you for your advice – no more embarrassing moments in the park when Duke decides to ‘clean up’ after the westies!
Thanks Mia – keep up the good work.
Warm regards,
Naomi-Jayne Aldred and my fur-kids Lauchie, Murdoch & Duke
As fellow dog owners, you and I both know dogs rely on their owners, as their pack leader, to sort out any problems that come along. Well, this message is for all of us who love their pets and feel their dog deserves extra special care when it comes to their dogs’ health and wellbeing.
You have probably been looking for answers to your dog’s poop eating fetish, only to find well-meaning friends and other dog owners chiming in with their opinions; this advice can be overwhelming, short-lived and, frankly, ineffective.
I know you’re sick of settling for your dog’s poop eating, so I want to share something very important with you – poop eating can sometimes be a sign of deeper psychological or health issues, so do you really want to try a half-baked solution?
Or would you rather have a system written by a professional vet and dog trainer that will not only end the problem but fix the cause? If this sounds like what you have been looking for, then this will be the most important message you’ll read and here’s why:
Mia, professional dog trainer, shares her story about her dog’s poop eating habit
Dear fellow dog owner,
Hi, my name is Mia Montagliani and I am a professional dog trainer from ‘Your Dog Needs You’, an online dog training and health resource for owners. I am also the proud owner of two Manchester Terriers, my little Frodo and my girl, Ziggy. (Manchester Terriers are not a common breed – if you don’t know what they look like, well, picture pint sized Dobermans!)
There was a time when I had to endure Frodo eating poop at every opportunity.
It started when he was only a puppy – at 8 weeks old I caught Frodo eating cat poop. I was terrified – I was sure he had caught some awful disease and in a panic I literally washed his mouth out with soap whilst holding him over the laundry basin. (I am not proud of that moment – I’m sure it traumatised my little boy). My reaction was that of a terrified mother – you see – Frodo was my first puppy and I was sickened to think he’d die of some disease because he hadn’t finished getting all his vaccinations.
That night it seemed my worst fears had come true – Frodo had diarrhoea. I then found myself in the embarrassing predicament of being scolded by a vet for ringing him at 11.30pm at night on his emergency number for such a trivial matter.
People told me Frodo would grow out of it because he was just a curious puppy, but he didn’t. Instead, he ate poop every day. Frodo would eat Ziggy’s poop and poop he had found in public areas. It scared me to think that the poop he was eating could have been infested with anything, after all not all dog owners worm their dogs properly.
Frodo, bless his little soul, would even eat his own poop once he had finished eliminating – whilst it was still steaming hot! That made me sick to my stomach.
Sometimes, I’d spy him through my back window sniffing poop and I could tell he was about to eat it – so I’d yell out in anger and he would stop. Only later would I find the poop scattered and half eaten in the garden and his breath smelling of that awful tell-tale stink. And – *sigh* – I just knew he’d stolen a chance to eat the poop when my head was turned.
So, what could I do? I listened to other dog owners who said I should put stuff in his food that was supposed to make him stop, but it only worked for a short time. A fellow dog trainer advised me to teach Frodo to ‘leave it’ but that only worked sometimes as the lure of poop was almost intoxicating to him.
I started to do some research and dug around for some real solutions. All I wanted to know was how I could fix these problems that were gnawing away at me:
GRRROWL # 1
I couldn’t stop my dog from eating poop FOR GOOD
No matter what I tried, the problem would come up again. It got to the point where I thought I’d have to fight my dog’s addiction at every turn, but every time I thought I’d won a battle, I was still losing the war.
GRRROWL # 2
My dog would only sometimes listen when I told him to ‘leave it’
It was easier to get Frodo to leave poop when he was on a lead and if all else failed I’d just yank him away from the poop. But it was a different story when he was off-lead; Frodo would gobble it up before I could reach him and I knew I had to cop the stares of disgust from other dog owners walking their dogs nearby. I was simply embarrassed because, not only was my dog eating poop, but it was clear I could not control my dog.
GRRROWL # 3
My dog would eat poop when he knew I wasn’t looking
I would love coming home to my dog, but I’d never allow him to come near my face and lick me because I just knew, with one whiff of his foul breath that he’d eaten poop that day. If Frodo was on my lap and he yawned, I would turn away because that’s when I‘d always get a whiff of his stinky breath.
GRRROWL # 4
Poop was utterly addictive and intoxicating to my dog
Frodo would go nuts for poop, like most people love sugar. He would just go for it. Have you ever dealt with an addict? They’re tough to persuade! I didn’t know how to make him not even want the poop anymore, let alone force him to stop.
GRRROWL # 5
My dog’s addiction was a result of deeper psychological or health issues that I couldn’t put my finger on
Like I said before, people would tell me to put stuff in Frodo’s food to stop him gobbling poop. But I knew deep down that as a responsible dog owner, I owed it to my dog to ensure any problems he was experiencing that was compelling him to eat poop, should be dealt with properly. I wanted him actually not even want to eat poop anymore, rather than me yelling at him to stop or merely suppressing his urge temporarily.
GRRROWL # 6
I didn’t know how to protect me, my family and all my dogs from poop related diseases
Parasites, worms and other nasties can live in poop. But they’re only a fraction of the invisible killers that can infest poop. I knew my dog would be in danger of picking up all manner of diseases and that he could possibly pass them onto me and my family (including my other precious furkid, Ziggy).
Let’s face it – this habit is:
IRRITATING DISGUSTING REVOLTING UNHEALTHY
And on top of all that, I was exhausted by the endless cycle of my dog’s poop eating, followed by punishment and then feeling like a failure when things didn’t change. This endless cycle churned like a well-oiled wheel …and I felt like I was that crazy mouse running in that wheel getting nowhere because there was nothing I could do.
If you feel the same way, then you’re probably asking – how could I possibly stop this quickly?
Well, thanks to the many hours spent thoroughly researching this problem and three thousand dollars I spent in pursuing an accreditation in dog training, I was able to stop Frodo eating poop forever…and I mean this – FOREVER! It’s been 4 years since Frodo has eaten poop and – thank goodness – I don’t even smell it on his breath anymore.
Despite spending hundreds on so-called remedies and staying up late reading tonnes of stuff in books and on the net, I was able to win that war with only a few grey hairs to show for it (look closely at my picture – those greys are still there!)
As you can imagine, there are many like me out there, and maybe even yourself, who would benefit from my experience and make their life easier by having all the information they’ll ever need in one easy to read ebook. And – voila! – all this time later and with dog training experience behind me I put together this resource for people like us.
Anyway, I don’t want to keep you hanging any longer…

Kath Luty – Experienced Veterinarian
Hello dog owners,
I became a vet because I am an unashamed dog lover. Nothing makes me happier than contributing to the health and happiness of dogs.
One of the most asked questions in a veterinary practice is “How can I stop my dog eating poop? This question is one that many vets either don’t have the time, nor the know-how, to answer.
Poop eating is one of the most distressing problems that you can experience in your relationship with your dog, simply because it is so revolting. This is especially confronting when it is your loving and loyal dog.
I can tell you now, that this ebook will answer your prayers. It is simple, quick and easy to apply. And it has been checked over by me, so that the information and techniques you are about to discover are accurate, up to date and, most importantly, veterinarian approved.
I have not seen anything like this available today – it is one of a kind. Although I expect there will be many shoddy imitations, none will equal this amazing system.
Kath Luty, DVM
So what do you think so far? This ebook has been given a huge seal of approval by an experienced veterinary surgeon. Between them Mia and Kath have more than 30 experience and knowledge in training, treating, and of course, living with dogs. That’s a lot of experience and knowledge packed into one ebook!
If it’s okay with you… I’d like to ask you for one small favour.
Are you ready? Good. It won’t take long…
Take a deep breath – - – hold it in – - – hold it in- – - and exhale – - -
Let your mind wander for a small moment and imagine this…
It’s 10:37am on a fine and lazy Sunday morning…you’re enjoying another walk in a nearby park with your dog. In the corner of your eye you spy some dog poop that a careless dog owner has left behind. For just a fleeting moment you feel that familiar dread – but instead you smile ear to ear. Why? Because your dog walks past the poop with only a cursory sniff…your dog’s indifference to what would have previously been a yummy doggy snack astounds and pleases you. You walk on with your dog, feeling pleased that your little angel is obedient, happy and healthy – and feel joyous disbelief at how easy and convenient this is. And best of all…No matter what type of poop your dog spies, you feel reassured your dog no longer feels the urge to splurge on poop!
Okay…snap out of it….now you’re probably wondering…
